What Is the TCPA?
The Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), 47 U.S.C. § 227, is a federal law that restricts telemarketing calls, auto-dialed calls, pre-recorded calls, text messages, and unsolicited faxes. Under the TCPA, companies must obtain prior express written consent before contacting consumers using automated technology.
Your Consent
When you submit a quote request on MovingQuotation.com and check the consent checkbox, you are providing prior express written consent under the TCPA. Specifically, you are consenting to:
- Be contacted by MovingQuotation.com and/or up to 5 matched licensed moving companies
- Receive automated telephone calls, including calls placed using an automatic telephone dialing system (ATDS) or pre-recorded voice messages
- Receive SMS and MMS text messages, including automated texts, from moving companies in our network
- Receive email communications regarding your moving quote request
Contact may occur at the phone number and email address you provided in your quote request form.
Consent Is Not Required
Opting Out
You have the right to opt out of communications at any time:
- Text messages: Reply STOP to any text message you receive from a moving company or from us
- Phone calls: Tell the caller to place you on their Do Not Call list
- Email: Click the unsubscribe link in any email, or contact us at contact@movingquotation.com
- National Do Not Call Registry: Register your number at donotcall.gov
Note: Opting out will prevent future contact from us or the specific company you opt out from. It does not retroactively revoke consent for contacts already made.
Consent Documentation
We use TrustedForm by ActiveProspect to document your consent at the time of form submission. This creates a certificate that records:
- The exact consent language displayed to you
- The timestamp of your form submission
- Your IP address
- The URL of the page where you submitted your information
This documentation is retained for a minimum of 5 years in accordance with TCPA compliance best practices and FCC guidance.
Moving Companies in Our Network
Moving companies that receive your lead through our platform are independently responsible for their own TCPA compliance. Each company in our network agrees to our partner terms, which require compliance with all applicable federal and state telemarketing laws.
